Little Man Having Some Dinner

Sent from my mobile device

Aidan Eating and Ryan Birthday Dinner

Here are some pictures of Aidan post eating if you even call it eating. We think he consumes about 5% of the total meal we fix for him. I also added some pictures of myself blowing out a candle for my birthday. Great times. Thanks to my wife for a great dinner!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

I am embarrased that I am writing this post at 8:40 in the evening. It should be 8:40 in the morning. It has just been one of those days. Anyway, happy birthday to the best daddy in the whole wide world. You are so patient with our kids. You give it your all every time you are with them. Ashley is in love with you. She has turned in to a daddy's girl. Today she fell and smacked her lip on the floor and cried for you( I have to admit... I was a bit jelous). Our sweet precious little Aidan bear is fascinated by you. He watches your face and laughs harder with you, than with anyone else. You have been AMAZING getting up with him during the night. Anyway, I better go and spend some time with you on your birthday. LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Ahhh... the joys of toddlerhood

The other morning I decided that I was going to take a shower and lock Ashley in the bathroom with me. Aidan was sleeping and I did not want her to wake him up, plus it simply wouldn't be safe for her to wander around the house on her own. Anyway, I get out a bag of hair clips and rubberbands for her to play with. I step in the shower and she yells, "mommy, where are you going?" And pulls the shower curtain back letting out a gallon of water. I am trying to grab the curtain and she wraps it around herself and says, "mommy a robe." I get the shower curtain out of her hands and she starts stomping in the massive puddle on the ground. Then the toilet flushes and the water gets super hot. I tell her not to flush the toilet again. It has not been 5 minutes and I still have not done one thing yet in the shower. This time I look out and she has unrolled the toilet paper and it is all over the WET ground. She looks up at me with a huge WET piece and says, "mommy do you want to blow your nose?" I decided that I had enough and was about to rinse the conditioner out of my hair when the toilet flushed AGAIN!!!!!! I mean are you kidding me.... I walked around the rest of the day with my hair greasy because I simply could not take anymore of that shower.

Katie Shooting During Blackhawks Game

Kelly's twin sister Katie somehow managed to get herself on the ice during an intermission at this weekend's Blackhawks game. We didn't see it but here are some pictures from the event. Supposedly she was just inches away from winning 2 round trip flights anywhere in the world. Good work sissy! Oh and can you believe she's already 3.5 months pregnant!

Happy Valentines Day

Whilst painting our basement this past week, I got to thinking about all the women in my life. Hah...that probably sounds funny but obviously not in the "player" sense but the women who surround me on a day-to-day basis.

Since I didn't have time to send all of you a card, I decided to paint an abbreviated Happy Valentines Day message on our basement wall. FYI, it reads "HPY VDAY" because scribing with a 12" roller ain't easy.

- To my sweet and precious Ashley Jane, you are the center of my world. Your little rosy cheeks, your curly locks and your bright smile warm my heart in the deepest sense. You have no idea how it makes me feel when you run into my arms screaming "daddy!" after work.

- To my beautiful and strong bride, you perform the work of 3 women. I don't know how you do it on such little sleep but you are amazing. Our kids are blessed to have a mother like you and it already shows. Thanks for being awesome.

- To my cautious and protective mother, thanks for instilling a sense of hard work and moral values into my upbringing. You've always been there for me/us when in need and words will never begin to express how much you mean to me.

- To my always upbeat grandma, thanks for all the amazing memories from my past. You taught me how to spell the months, especially Fe-BRUH-ary, and how to enjoy the most spicy things on a menu.

- To my hard working mother-in-law, thanks for letting us destroy your house while we (and you!) work on our new house. You've always been so giving and helpful and I swear you never sleep but your help and support is unconditional and always encouraging.

- To my effervescent sister-in-law, you have a heart that is bigger then any I've seen. Your care and concern for Ashley goes to show what an amazing momma you're going to be.

And to everyone else, Happy Valentines Day!

Nursing Aidan + Police Chase.... I'll explain....

OMG!! Crazy Story!!!! I was up nursing Aidan tonight at 3:30. I finally got back in to my room at 4:00. I looked at the clock and had a very uneasy feeling. I laid down and wanted to go out and check the doors to make sure they were locked. But right then a big diesal truck pulled by the house. I looked out the window because the truck sounded so big. I decided to watch the truck go up the street for some reason. I then stayed at the window for a while. Only to see the truck pull around again. I waited for a few more minutes and saw it making another round down the street. It then stop in front of another house for a while and pulled away. I called 911 to tell them about the suspicous car. I felt stupid because it was only a truck driving around the neighborhood. Ryan then came out to investigate. We were about to go to bed because the truck had not come by in about 5 minutes or so. When all of the sudden the truck came rolling by again as the police car was coming down the street. The car sped away and the cop went chasing after it. Two more cop cars came from the other direction and went speeding around the neighborhood. CRAZY!!!! Who knew that Aidan could be a good samaratin at the such a young age. Keeping me up all night helped to catch a bad guy. Way to go Aidan!!!
p.s. I have been up since 3:30 and it is now 5:00... please forgive the gramatical errors.
