Funny Story

So Ryan came with me to the doctor today because we were not sure what the doctor was going to say about how far along I have progressed. Everything was the same. I am still 5cm and fully effaced (sp??) The doc said that he gives us the option again to induce or just chance it to make it to the hospital. I said, "what should we do?" We talked about the highway being closed and traffic. The Doc told Ryan that if my water broke he wants him to put his flashers on and get to the hospital as quick as possible. Ryan looked at me and said ,"sweet, that would be awesome... let's not induce.... I would love to have an excuse to drive like that!!" Hahahaahaa... I would rather not induce because I do not want chemicals and my dear sweet Ryan just wants an excuse to get out of a ticket. Hahahaha... just kidding... Ryan... I know waht your intentions are... I just had to tell about the driving thing.

Doc visit

Sitting here waiting for the doc.

Still waiting to meet little baby Strauss

I obviously decided not to induce and just let nature take its course. Good thing I did because little Strauss had yet another week to grow/develop. I go for another appointment today, so we will see just how much further I have gotten. Ashley has been practicing "It's a boy or It's a girl." She will be letting you know what our sweet little baby is. It feels like a never ending Christmas morning. I can't wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl. SO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIG DECISION!!

So I just got back from the doctor and I am way more than ready to go. Baby Strauss is coming any day/second now. My dilemma is this... I am so far along that the doctor wants to make sure that I deliver the baby in the hospital. Our highway here is shut down and a trip that should take less than 15 minutes can take up to one hour. So that is kind of scary. No joke, my mom is boiling a turkey baster syringe in case she has to do a home birth. In fact, she already read about how to do it and says that she keeps visualizing it in her head. Hahaha... then she saw a wet spot on my pants and thought my water broke and nearly hyperventilated and had to sit down. Hahaha... this is all so funny. So the big decision is if I should schedule and induction to be on the safe side or fly by the seat of my pants!! Hmmmm... what to do????

2:40am... what is the deal?

Why am I eating grapes at 2:45am? I mean seriously, I have sooooo much on my mind right now. Let me just list a few things... pick a baby name, spend LOTS of time with Ashley, pick a paint color for the outside of the house, figure out what kind of mantel/fireplace to do, order kitchen cabinets, pick out new bathroom tub and fixtrues, decide on new garage doors, replace and pick new front door, figure out color scheme for the inside of the house, cancel harwood floor installation, pick out bedroom paint colors + fabric for Ashley's new room.... The list just keeps going on. I have to do all of the this with a 1.5 year old that is starting to test my patience like you would never believe and a stomach that is sooooo uncomfortable right now that every time I walk I feel like the baby dropped out. Nice thought, huh?!

Fallen Tree

After the big storms this weekend, we found this little surprise in our backyard. Luckily the damage was very minimal. Another plus is some free firewood for the winter!

Baby #2 ALMOST HERE!!

It is 2:45am and I am sitting up in the kitchen trying to figure out if I am having true contractions or not. I am three weeks away from my due date. I hope everything would be fine if the baby came now. This same thing happended last Thursday. I had about 15 small contractions and then it went away. So we will see. I told Ryan and he said, "you are ok sweetie just take deep breaths" and then he rolled over and fell back asleep with his mouth wide open. How does one sleep knowing that you are going to meet a new member of the family for the first time? I am soooooooo excited to see if the baby is a boy or girl, I just can't stand it. I can't wait until the doctor says, "it's a ?????." It is so much fun and soon enough we will know!!! Gotta go... still writing a list of baby names.
