Aidan the ladies man!!
I wanted to post a few of my favorite pics that cousin Chaz took of Anna and Aidanbearthomas. They were so cute together this past weekend.
Aidan Thomas on the move!!

My life is over for the next week or so!! I have to adjust to having another child on the move. Aidan is now army crawling all over the place. He knows what he wants and goes to get it. He LOVES his new skill. He wants to practice all day long. Today he was trying to pull the covers off of the sockets. He worked on it for a good bit and then crawled on over to the floor vent and played with that for about 2 minutes or so. His favorite place to explore is still under the table. Since he throws his food all over the place. He likes to look for a couple of extra scraps. No joke.... he spotted a cheerio today and bee lined for it. It was really funny.
We have a video of it... ryan should be posting soon. The picture below is Aidan and his friend Sophia at our playgroup this past week.
Sissy on bed rest at 28 weeks

My poor heart breaks for my sister. She started having pre-term labor contractions this past weekend. She went in to the hospital twice so the hospital could stop her contractions. After some pretty yucky side effects, from the medicine, and a few scary moments, Katie is now ordered to bed rest. She is to keep her legs parallel to the ground for 99.9% of the day. Say a prayer or two that baby Nichol will wait to arrive mid August. And that Katie will get through the next couple of months on bed rest.
This is a picture of Katie at her shower this past Saturday. A few hours before her contractions started... poor sissy wissy.... :O(

Elephant Rocks State Park
TheStrausses.com spent the day yesterday at a local state park which was full of huge granite boulders. I was impressed and plan on heading back soon for a little bouldering. Here are some pictures:

Update on the kiddos.....
So much has happened this past month. I have been keeping a running list of all the things that I wanted to post. And now I can't think of one thing. Go figure.
Ashley has been potty trained for the last month now. It is sooooo nice. It all started one Saturday. She woke up from her nap and said, "mommy, I do not want to wear diapers anymore." I was not prepared at all. I had some little bloomers that I put on her. She had a few accidents the first couple of days. She has not worn a diaper since that day. She feels so much lighter and her clothes fit better without the bulky diaper.
Ashley has perfected riding and steering her tricycle. It took a while to get the steering down, but we finally got it the last couple of days or so. She swings on the normal swings now and wants to go really high. I think that we hit the "terrible twos" early, because she seems so much easier to reason with now. She is so much more agreeable and I feel like I can talk to her like a normal human. We have not had any tantrums or silliness since pretty much before her birthday. It is so nice.
Aidan is 7 months now. He is such a happy go lucky little guy. He sits unsupported, scoots backwards and forwards, and LOVES feeding himself cheerios and banannas. He also says "Dada"!! The first time that we heard it, was in the car coming back from Chicago last weekend. Tonight, he said it a bunch of times. It is so cute! I have tried to get it on video but, every time I finally get the camera, and turn it on, he is done talking.
